Arts Queensland Resources Update – issue 18 of 2015

Queensland Arts Showcase

The new Queensland Arts Showcase Program will open for applications from 1 September 2015 and guidelines will be available from that date. Project and Program Fund applications will be accepted until 3 pm on 31 August 2015. After that time, project funding will be available through the new program.

Smoky Dawson Foundation

Young Queensland artists aged 12-25 are invited to apply for a grant of up to $2,000 provided by the Smoky Dawson Foundation, specifically for singer/songwriters. The grant may be used for any purpose that advances the development of the young artist’s talents including the purchase of instruments, equipment and materials, tuition and education, attendance at workshops, participation in performances, membership of professional or artistic bodies, recording and publication costs. Applications close 15 September 2015.

Expressions of interest open for National Program for Excellence in the Arts independent assessors

The Ministry for the Arts is seeking expressions of interest for independent assessors to assist with the assessment of grant applications to the National Program for Excellence in the Arts. Expressions of interest are invited from arts and culture professionals, as well as others in the sector including artists, curators, philanthropists and producers. Individuals who may not be involved professionally in the sector, but who attend and participate in arts and culture are also encouraged to apply.

Creative Partnerships Australia – Making Culture Happen Tour: Fundraising with the Australian Cultural Fund

The Australian Cultural Fund is a collective funding platform for Australian artists. CPA is taking The ACF on a national tour to connect with artists around Australia. Meet the ACF team and other artists near you, hear about successful ACF fundraising campaigns and find out how you can use the platform to raise dollars and support your artistic practice. Brisbane session is on 22 September 2015. Bookings are essential.

Australia Council grants

The 2015 Australia Council grants programs have been revised. The final round for 2015 closes on 1 September and potential applicants are encouraged to contact Australia Council to seek guidance on formulating your proposal. The funding categories are:

  • Development Grants for Individuals and Groups – $5,000 – $25,000
  • Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups – $10,000 – $50,000
  • Arts Projects – Organisations – $10,000 to $150,000
  • Fellowships – $80,000
