Arts Queensland Resource Update - Issue 10 of 2015

Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts – Fresh Ground

The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts supports Queensland artists to develop and present new work at all stages of development – from providing a space for an initial creative development through to presenting a production in one of their performance venues and assisting in developing and delivering strategies for touring works nationally and internationally. Central to their support for artists is the FRESH GROUND initiative, within which there are two programs: the Fresh Ground Residency program and the Fresh Ground Space program. Applications are now open for the Fresh Ground Residency program, which has seen the Judith Wright Centre team work with the likes of Casus Circus, Lisa Wilson Projects, The Danger Ensemble, Company2 and Prying Eye, plus Babushka and Phluxus2 Dance Collective, who will shortly premiere their new productions. An Information Session is scheduled for 5 May 2015 with this round closing on 1 June 2015. Application packs can be downloaded from the Judith Wright Centre website.

Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program

The Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (ACDGP) is the primary cultural grants program of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). DFAT’s cultural diplomacy strategy aims to engage overseas audiences through the delivery of high-quality and innovative arts and cultural promotions to both increase their understanding of Australia’s contemporary identity and values and foster collaborative links with partners overseas. Expressions of interest for the current round close on 30 April 2015 for funding of up to $60 000.

AMP’s Tomorrow Fund

Australian citizens and permanent residents of all ages and abilities can apply for an AMP Tomorrow Fund grant. They may be passionate about solving community problems or lifting spirits with their music, art or words. What they share is a desire to make a difference, either by creating something special or inspiring others. These are people who have put in the hard yards and are ready to leap to the next level. The only thing stopping them is a lack of funds. AMP’s Tomorrow Fund wants to remove the barrier by giving out grants of between $10,000 and $100,000 to help them with costs such as travel, living expenses and research – or whatever it takes to achieve their dream. Applications close on 14 May.
