Arts Queensland Resources Update – issue 14 of 2015

The Seed Fund

The Seed Fund is an Australian organisation, philanthropic in nature, not for profit and privately owned. Established by musician John Butler through a donation to the Australian business arts Foundation’s Australia Cultural Fund in 2005, grants are offered annually to bona-fide practicing artists and arts practitioners who are Australian citizens.
 
Impact of the 2014 and 2015 Commonwealth Budget decisions on the Arts 

The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee is enquiring into the impact of the 2014 and 2015 Commonwealth Budget decisions on the Arts; and the suitability and appropriateness of the establishment of a National Programme for Excellence in the Arts. Submissions are due by 17 July 2015.
 
 
Arts Queensland – Projects and Programs Fund

The Projects and Programs Fund offers support towards projects and programs that create vibrant arts and cultural experiences for Queensland. Applications for up to $60 000 can be made at any time but must be received at least 16 weeks prior to the project and program activity start date.

Queensland Destination Events Program

The Queensland Destination Events Program (QDEP) seeks to leverage the crucial link between events and the destinations in which they are staged, extending the flow of the economic, marketing and social benefits of events throughout metropolitan and regional Queensland. The QDEP offers two funding options for regional events:

  •  Destination event funding – single year funding for developing events seeking growth ($10,000 – $25,000 per year)
  •  Significant event funding – single year or up to 3-years of funding for events that can demonstrate a strong track record of growth or growth potential ($25,000 – $100,000 per year)

The current round closes on 10 July 2015.

Australia Council grants 

Australia Council grants for 2015 has  rounds closing on 1 September and 1 December 2015 and potential applicants are encouraged to contact Australia Council to seek guidance on formulating your proposal. The funding categories are:

  •  Development Grants for Individuals and Groups – $5,000 – $25,000
  •  Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups – $10,000 – $50,000
  •  Arts Projects – Organisations – $10,000 to $150,000
